Review: Drug-Rehab.org

Drug-Rehab.org is a website created by a non-profit organization in 2002 dedicated to providing nationwide drug and alcohol rehabilitation referral and placement services for addicts and their loved ones. There is a toll free number to reach a placement counselor, or if the user prefers they can provide callback information and a counselor will contact them directly.

Placement recommendations are based on financial information, as well as the specific situation of the addict to determine the best program available to ensure success in overcoming their disease, as well as their continued sobriety.

In the United States today, there are approximately 14 million people who are addicted to or abuse alcohol. That represents 1 in 13 people in the U.S. An estimated 12.8 million Americans over the age of 12 use illegal drugs on a monthly basis. Clearly, their is a very high potential demand for this service, as many families of those suffering from addiction have no experience with intervention, and are confused and overwhelmed with their options for rehabilitation.

Other Services of Drug-Rehab.org:

DrugRehab.net is a website that provides a similar service, and is produced by the founders of Drug-Rehab.org. The difference is that users are specifically directed to SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) recognized drug and alcohol rehabilitation treatment facilities. This agency is a division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. It lists a guide to various treatment facilities that can be accessed by state and city.

Competitors of Drug-Rehab.org

There are various websites providing similar services. One is cravelife-drugfree.org, which offers a placement and referrals but focuses on alternative treatment methods of rehabilitation, with an emphasis on avoidance of psychoactive drugs. There is also nationaldrugrehabhotline.com, which provides the same services and web content, but provides links to various directories of over 10,000 drug rehabilitation centers.

Additional Features

Drug-Rehab.org also lists extensive resources on addiction, as well as a complete state by state guide of substance abuse related statistics.
