A Review of Alcohol Addiction and Recovery CentersAlcohol addiction and recovery centers come in many different styles of programs within the United States. Price ranges can run between 100% free on up into the 60,000 dollar per month range for those who would like a private staff of professionals who are caring for all of their needs. Some alcohol addiction and recovery centers are using themed lifestyle concepts to make users feel comfortable while participating in their services. People who enjoy pets, fine dining, or gaming can find a facility that is catering to their comforts. In-patient recovery centers offer all manner of diversions to their clients these days. During the late 1950’s alcohol addiction was declared a disease that required specific steps towards treatment so that the addict could please family, friends, society, or God. Once an addict was made to feel guilty about their actions, the theory is that they would not repeat these actions. This philosophy is often included in the 12-step programs. Today, there is a second choice in addiction philosophy is available to those who do not feel comfortable with the 12-step programs. Clients are not considered to have a disease, only an addiction problem that is symptom of other problems or unresolved issues in the addicts life that are causing them to drink. This philosophy works on making the client feel very good about themselves so that they can function as a happy member of society. Today’s alcohol addiction and recovery in-patient plans will use one of these two philosophies as a guiding influence while placing the client into a medically monitored facility while their detoxification is going on. After the detoxification process is finished, 12-step programs, or self-enlightening programs, or a mixture of both are used to provide suggested new lifestyle routines to follow. Out-patient and adolescent programs are also available that allow for clients to continue working or going to school while receiving treatment towards alcohol addiction problems. Another type of program that is growing in popularity in some areas is the court ordered alcohol addiction plans. Clients will be given the option of paying for alcohol addiction treatments, or going to jail. Some clinics specialize in court ordered programs. Author: B. Shaw |
